This Painted Steel Round Trailer Drop Axle has a carrying capacity of 3500lbs. This is a listing for the Drop Axle beam and spindles. The Hubs are not included. The Drop Spindles are welded into the beam of the Axle as pictured.  These 3500lb Round Steel Trailer Drop Axles are made of round steel tubing that measures 2 3/8 inches in diameter. This 3,500lb Painted Steel Trailer Axle will typically use 3500lb Trailer Hubs with a 5 Lug Pattern.

This 3,500lb Trailer Drop Axle has tapered spindles that use the following bearing sizes and grease seal size:

Inner Bearing 68149 or 1 3/8 inch inner diameter

Outer Bearing- 44649 or 1 1/16 inch inner diameter

Grease Seal- 1.719 inches inner diameter

Each 3500lb Painted Steel Trailer Drop Axle we sell is equipped with the Standard 4 Hole Brake Flange for mounting Trailer Brakes.  The Castle Nut and Spindle Washer are included with the axle. Some of our Painted Steel Trailer Axles come with Pre-Mounted Spring Seats for specific measurements. The Axles listed without pre-mounted spring seats will include the spring seats for you, the customer to weld to your specific measurements.  It is very important that you do not weld your spring seats outside the range listed. Using an axle to long may cause a leverage issue, leading to pre-mature bending or damaging to the ends of the axle. An axle that is to short will cause the tires to rub on the frame of the trailer.

Check the Hub Face Measurement and overall measurement below, as well as the if the Axle comes with pre-mounted spring seats. This Axle features industry standard 4 " Drop Spindles, which allow for the frame of your trailer to ride lower, for easier loading and un loading.

Hub face measures: 88 inches

-Hub Face measurement refers to the outside face measurement, from one trailer hub across the axle to the outside face of the trailer hub across from it.

Overall length measures: 93 inches

Spring Seat Centers Measure: 72 inches

Camber: Cambered, Axle Camber is intended for use with Leaf springs mounted below the axle.

As Advertised
This axle was delivered quickly with no hassle and as advertised there was no shipping cost or tax. I'm not an expert but it is exactly as advertised and the free shipping for the special that they were running for my order put it about $100 less than any other axle I could find.

Mr.
My old axles rusted through at the U-Bolts of my 1977 Owens trailer. I thought about having a welder just replace the beam/tube since the stubs were still fine, but that would have cost more and taken longer than buying these. My only complaint is that no exact fit was available. Needed 88/70. I had to grind off the 72" spring seats and reweld at 70". Installation is complete, though I have not used the trailer yet. My old hubs fit just fine in spite of being over 40 years old. The built in zerk eliminates the messy job of packing bearings, but makes it difficult to get the cotter key through the castle nuts and uses 1/2 a tube of grease. Spindles could have been better protected for shipping, slight rust from sitting in the rain after delivery to my driveway.
