This boat trailer hub stud is zinc-plated for corrosive resistance with 1/2 inch diameter and a longer length of 2 1/2 inches. The extra length makes this stud perfect for boat trailer axles with slip-on brake systems, as the extra length allows the stud to pass through the slip-over rotor and provides enough threading for the lug nuts to find purchase and tighten your wheel down. The 1/2 inch diameter lug is commonly used on 5 lug to 8 lug trailer axles that are 3,500 - 7,000 lbs in capacity. You will install this hub stud by driving it into the back of your hub through the empty lug hole with a hammer or mallet, and then tightening down the stud with a lug nut and wrench until the stud is fully seated. From there you can back off the lug nut and reinstall your trailer tire and wheel assembly and get back out on the road safely. If you need to replace your trailer hub's missing or broken studs this could be the replacement stud you need, perfect for boat trailers with slip-on hydraulic disc brakes and land trailers alike!
