This heavy-duty steel #42 spindle is a weld-in replacement for 6 lug and 8 lug axles, and includes a pre-welded brake flange to attach trailer disc or drum brakes. The spindle accommodates standard-sized 6 lug and 8 lug bearing combinations, with a 1 1/4 inch outer diameter bearing, 1 3/4 inch inner diameter inner bearing, and 2 1/4 inch inner diameter seal surface. The 2 1/4 inch diameter weld-on butt end is designed to fit straight into axle tubing to replace a damaged or compromised spindle, or to assemble a new straight axle. The pre-welded 5 hole brake flange is sized to fit standard 12 inch and 13 inch trailer disc brake kits, such as those manufactured by Kodiak, DeeMaxx, Dexter, or Tie Down Engineering, as well as 12 inch hydraulic or electric drum brake backing plates. This spindle also includes a greaseable Accu Lube zerk fitting to easily pump fresh grease into your hub, allowing you to keep the bearings fully lubricated with ease.

This spindle can accommodate multiple bearing combinations, but the most common ones you would use are either the 6 Bolt Trailer Bearing Kit, or the 8 Bolt Trailer Bearing Kit, depending on the bearings that your current trailer setup uses. If you needed to replace your hubs completely, you could use our Galvanized 6 Bolt Trailer Hub Kit or Galvanized 8 Bolt Trailer Hub Kit to have a completely new assembly for your build. The spindle does not come with hardware included so you will need a 1 inch Standard Trailer Spindle Nut, 1 inch Round Trailer Spindle Washer, and 1/8 inch Zinc Spindle Cotter Key if you are not reusing your old hardware. This is an ideal replacement spindle if your old spindle broke off, had excessive wear from a dry bearing, or if you are an experienced professional building a new straight trailer axle.
