This is the Ultimate Trailer Spare Tire Carrier for any Boat Trailer. This Spare Tire Carrier is Hot Dipped Galvanized for fantastic Corrosion Resistance for your Saltwater or Fresh Water Boat Trailer, or Utility Trailer. The Universal Trailer Spare Tire Mount features an "Up and Away" design, meaning it holds the Spare Tire and Wheel up, at a higher elevation than your trailer frame, and slightly out away from your trailer frame as well to give make the Spare Tire easier to access to and to keep a large amount clearance available for other parts that might be mounted in the same area, like a Boat Trailer Winch Post for example.
Installing the Universal Galvanized Spare Tire Carrier is easy, the Mounting holes are spaced with 1 set designed for 3" Wide U Bolts, and the other for 2" Wide U Bolts. The Trailer Tire Carrier Mount can be installed Vertically (recommended) or horizontally if needed, so if your trailer frame is 3" or 2" tall or wide, you should be able to find a spot and an orientation that will allow the Spare Tire Carrier to be mounted securely. This Boat trailer spare tire mount can also be mounted inside the I Beam of your boat trailers frame with bolts.
For this reason, U Bolts and mounting hardware are not included with the Spare tire carrier, but you can find whatever size is needed for your project here in our Trailer Mounting Hardware Category.
From there, the Spare Tire and Wheel installs to the carrier using the included hardware: three 1 1/2" carriage bolts, and three Hex Nuts along with three Locking Retainers.
The Great thing about this Carrier is its versatility, you can Mount a 4 Lug, 5 Lug, 6 Lug or 8 Lug Wheel using the 3 Slotted mounting holes on the face of the carrier. The Common Bolt Pattern for each of these sizes is 4 Lug on 4", 5 Lug on 4.5", 6 Lug on 5.5" 8 Lug on 6.5". If your Trailer Wheels have a different Lug pattern than one of the ones listed here, it's possible that it may not fit this
