Kodiaks replacement brake pad set is made out of high quality ceramic material. This set is NOT made out of semi-metallic material, which will rust over time leading to early brake pad deterioration on boat trailers that go in salt water. Kodiak's Red Ceramic Brake Pads come with a 3 Year Warranty against Pad Separation. Fits Kodiak 225 calipers which is what is on 5 bolt and 6 bolt Kodiak brake kits. This is a full set that will replace the pads on 2 calipers/1 axle.

Brake pads
The pads have painted backing plates. The industry seems to be transitioning towards galvanized backing plates, they were not available for this application. My use is fresh water and no road salt, these will be superior to the original pads. They are bonded, the originals were riveted, bonded being better for corrosion and moisture. They have good stopping power.

My new brake pads were part of a larger shipment and were lost by FedEx while in Transit. The shipment box broke apart...my new tire showed up but no brake pads. I contacted Boat Trailer Parts.com and they immediately sent another pair of brakes....no hesitation. Great customer service. Now it's time to install them!
