This 2 1/2 inch Long Tie Bolt is the standard size Tie Bolt that most Trailer Leaf springs are made with, used to secure the separate leaves of the spring together through the middle. The bolt is then cut down to size after the Leaf Spring is manufactured so that extra length doesn't impede the spring's usability on your trailer. If you are adding an additional leaf to your existing leaf springs or repairing/replacing the leaves on your existing Trailer Leaf Springs, you may need to use a longer Center Bolt
The Tie Bolt is 5/16" in diameter and 2 1/2" long, it includes a hex nut and will work with most 1 3/4" or 2" wide Trailer Leaf Springs, but it is always best to double-check the measurements of the parts you need prior to purchasing.
